Photobucket supports most commonly-used image and video files. If you're having trouble uploading a photo or video, making sure we support the file type is a great first step.
.bmp files are converted into .png files.
All video files are converted to .mp4 format when you upload them.
We do not currently support tif, tiff, raw and swf file types. We may add support for those file types at a later date.
Your file type must have the correct file extension and internal file type or your upload will fail. If you have a media file with an extension that is not on the supported list, use a graphic/image or video editor and try to convert it into a supported file type, then save it as the new file type, with the appropriate extension.
There are no limits to uploading images, and all images are uploaded in their original size!
500 MB or less, and 10 minutes or less.
If you purchased or otherwise obtained a video, it may be protected by Digital Rights/Restrictions Management (DRM) and cannot be uploaded to Photobucket. If your video (and accompanying audio) is not copyrighted, and it meets the size limits, you can upload it.
5 MB or less for the original animated .gif and 800 frames or less.
